• I am dismayed to learn of the proposed Hanna Boys Center development on Carriger Road.

• This development will have a highly negative impact on the local environment due to increased traffic, further depletion of water resources and destruction of local habitat.

• This bucolic country lane is used by Sonoma Valley residents for recreation, including walking, bicycling, jogging, horse riding and dog walking, as well as by residents of the Serenity elder-care home.

• The area Hanna is seeking to rezone is unique and pristine natural landscape where Sonoma Mountain meets Sonoma Valley.  It is land zoned for Public Facilities and used for environmental education by Hanna itself, as well as, by other Sonoma Valley schools.

• The proposal should not go ahead. If there is to be any development, there is a much more direct, existing and much less environmentally destructive access to the proposed development via Arnold Drive through the existing Hanna property.
